The Arc of Pennsylvania is seeking a passionate and dedicated Program Specialist to support our core program, Include Me in the Harrisburg Area – Work Region covers Dauphin, Cumberland, York, Lancaster, & Lebanon Counties. About Include Me
The mission of Include Me is to develop, support, and enhance disability-inclusive practices across Pennsylvania. We partner with school districts to create comprehensive, customized plans that meet the unique needs of districts, educators, students, and families. Program Specialists play a critical role in strengthening inclusive education capacity and ensuring students have equal access to education, community participation, and lifelong opportunities.
Position Overview
The Program Specialist provides direct support to schools and educators to advance inclusive education practices. This is a hybrid position: when not providing in-school support, the Program Specialist will work remotely from a home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional development trainings and provide follow-up support to assist with implementation and troubleshooting
- Consult on:
- Behavioral supports
- Sensory supports
- Curricular adaptations and modifications
- Learning environment design
- Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
- Assistive technology
- Model best practices for inclusive education for teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff
- Conduct classroom observations, take field notes, and provide recommendations for accommodations, adaptations, and modifications
- Identify and work to reduce barriers to full inclusion and meaningful participation in academics and peer interactions
- Maintain a roster of supported school buildings and students (with appropriate consents)
· Co-facilitate inclusive student-facing programs virtually and/or in-school ranging from 4-30 students.
- Collaborate closely with The Arc of Pennsylvania’s Program Director to define success criteria, measure effectiveness of initiatives, and report outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field or equivalent experience
- Ability to obtain the following Pennsylvania clearances:
- Act 34
- Act 151
- Act 126
- Act 114
- Act 168
- Strong understanding of and commitment to inclusion and inclusive practices.
- Proven ability to implement inclusive activities in general education settings.
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple sites.
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to view challenges from multiple perspectives.
- Comfortable presenting to both small and large groups.
- Co-facilitate inclusive student-facing programs virtually and/or in-school ranging from 4-30 students.
- Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight and evening events.
- Strong computer skills, including data entry and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
