Pennsylvania's PA ABLE bill SB 879 passed into law on April 18, 2016. The Pennsylvania Treasury Department is currently creating the PA ABLE program, including  the website and system to offer ABLE savings accounts. An ABLE Advisory Board - which includes Pennsylvanians with disabilities, their family members, and members of disability rights organizations - is helping with the implementation of ABLE accounts. The Treasury Department is currently figuring out information such as how withdrawals and deposits will be made; how to do outreach about ABLE accounts being available; and how to make the ABLE savings program work well for people with disabilities. The Treasury Department expects it will take at least six (6) months to create the PA ABLE savings account program.
